What is a refurbished phone?
A refurbished phone is a pre-owned device that has been restored to its factory settings so it can be resold.
Not all phones described as refurbished were ever faulty. Sometimes refurbished phones are phones that were returned by customers who changed their minds within the 30-day returns period.
Refurbished phones can be classified with grades A, B, and C or graded as "good" to "excellent" condition. Phones graded A (or excellent), have minimal signs of use and are like-new, but for a lot less than if you were to buy a new one.
What tests are carried out on a Refurbished phone?
All devices pass through a rigorous check, including battery, buttons, camera, and connection such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and screen.
All data is removed from the device, and the device is restored to its original state. The phones are usually updated to the most recent operating system.
If required, parts are repaired or replaced.
Are Refurbished phones good?
Refurbished phones are thoroughly tested and fully functional, usually as good as new.
However, keep in mind that a refurbished phone usually comes in a standard white box and may not include all of the usual accessories, such as chargers and headphones.
On the plus side, it should have at least a one-year warranty and the option to return it if you are dissatisfied
What are the refurbished phone gradings?
Refurbished phones are graded based on their condition.

Grade A: This is for like-new devices, with minimal signs of use. (see image below)
Grade B: The phone might have superficial and minimal scratches.
Grade C: These are usually the cheapest option, but the signs of use are more visible, such as scratches or chips.
Grade D: Phones graded as D are usually only used for spare parts.
